Vehicle Description
This 1974 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40 was built for the current owner by ICON 4×4 of Chatsworth, California, and was completed in 2018. The truck features gray powder-coated aluminum bodywork over black leather upholstery with Chilewich cloth inserts, and power comes from a 6.2-liter LS3 V8 linked to a 4L65E four-speed automatic transmission, a twin-stick dual-range transfer case, and locking front and rear differentials. Additional equipment includes the ICON sport suspension package with Fox Racing shocks, Dynatrac front and rear axles, Brembo brakes, 18? Fuel alloy wheels, a Warn winch, AMP Research side steps, LED lighting, a light bar, a black bimini top, air conditioning, heated front bucket seats, and an Alpine touchscreen infotainment system. Service under current ownership reportedly involved replacing the steering box and transmission pan gasket, and the oil was changed in preparation for the sale. This FJ40 is now offered in Tennessee with an ICON build sheet and a clean Illinois title in the owner’s name.
The replacement aluminum bodywork was fitted during the build and wears a Summit Gray powder coat finish. Features include half-doors, black powder-coated bumpers, a front bull bar, a Warn 9.5cti winch, LED lighting, a high-mounted light bar with PIAA driving lights, AMP Research power-operated side steps, a rear receiver hitch, and ICON fender badges. The seller notes that the paint is discolored below the fuel filler door.
Black 18? Fuel alloy wheels are mounted with 285/65 BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 tires, and a matching spare is mounted on the rear tire carrier. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel ICON-branded Brembo disc brakes with slotted rotors and a Wilwood master cylinder. The truck is equipped with Warn manually locking front hubs and Fox Racing adjustable shocks. The steering box is said to have been replaced in 2020.
